Don’t forget the CA Book Club that I started over at Catholic Answers. It has a lot of members and promises a lot of exciting dialogue.
From the Catholic Exchange network (of which CatholicMatch is perhaps the best known part) comes a new series of instructional and inspirational DVDs: Champions of Faith. This insightful series aims to showcase “how the world of sports, despite the behavior of some, is still an environment of discipline, leadership and virtue.”
The first DVD in the series, Champions of Faith: Baseball, features interviews with many Catholic major league players, including Mike Piazza, David Eckstein, Jeff Suppan, Mike Sweeney, Jack McKeon, Rich Donnelly and more. The players, coaches and managers interviewed share their insights on “faith, family, teamwork, sacrifice, leadership, humility and the many virtues and spiritual lessons” that they have learned both from the Faith and from the game.

Future editions will feature prominent figures from the worlds of soccer, football, the Olympics, the Silver Screen and the military.
